Three daily management measures for dairy cows

There are many management and technical measures in the process of raising dairy cows that require attention. For breeding, how to ensure the safe and healthy growth of dairy cows is a key issue. Only in this way can better economic benefits be achieved.

1. Brush your body often.

The purpose of brushing is to increase the metabolism of the cow and improve blood circulation. Adhere to 1-2 brushings per day. The time is before milking. Appliances are Ma Lian root brush and soft brush. Brush the order from front to back, from side to side. The method is to use the brush to reverse the hair and then straighten the hair. After each brush a few times, scrape off the dirt on the shovel, and then apply a brush to the whole body. Hot summer water can be used to brush dirty parts of dirt or dirt, such as cow's buttocks, tail, external reproductive organs and around. Dry brush as cold as possible, do not wash the body with water to prevent a cold. It is also necessary to keep the hoof wall and the fork clean and remove the attached dirt. To prevent the breakage of the hoof wall, Vaseline oil can often be applied. The hoof sharpness is removed in a timely manner and normal hoofing is usually performed once a year in the spring and autumn.

2. Do a good job of preventing heat and cold.

Relatively speaking, "milk cows are not afraid of the cold." Therefore, the summer cows are mainly cooled by the sunspots. Conditional fans can be installed inside the house to speed up the airflow in the house. Relative humidity is below 85%. The roof of the cowshed should be equipped with a sprinkler head to spray water on the cattle to help the cow body to dissipate heat. Trees and shading should be planted around the barn and on the sports ground. The diet should be properly matched and the concentration of the diet should be appropriately increased. Feed more fresh green and juicy feed and drink plenty of fresh cold water. In winter, the cowshed insulation is mainly windproof, paying particular attention to the invasion of the draught or thieves and avoiding excessive humidity. In addition, the cattle should also be given cold water at a temperature of at least 12°C.

3. Ensure adequate exercise.

Milk-producing cows can enhance their physical fitness through exercise. In particular, cows must be fed with the proper amount of exercise. If the exercise is not enough, it will easily lead to body fat, affect milk production and fecundity, and even obstetric diseases such as dystocia and placental retention. Therefore, for dairy cows, except for persisting 2-3 hours of driving away every day, every sunny day after milking and feeding should also be put on the playground to allow them to move freely.
