Founded in 1998, SYNLAB is headquartered in Augsburg, Germany, with branches in 35 countries, most of which are European countries, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Dubai, through subcontracting cooperation in Latin America. Merger and acquisition
In 1998, Dr. Bartl Wimmer founded the Association of Freelance Laboratory Physicians in Augsburg with a sales of 30 million euros, which is the predecessor of SYNLAB in the future;
In 2010, SYNLAB acquired a variety of laboratories in Europe, including Futurelab and Fleming Labs; and acquired MVZ Leverkusen Group to increase its market share in North Rhine Westphalia;
In 2011, SYNLAB received the Chambon in Prague, now renamed SYNLAB Genetics, one of the two commercial genetics laboratories in the Czech Republic, specializing in blood and tumor-related testing;
In 2012, the Swiss company SYNLAB acquired Bioanalitico, the largest private laboratory in Ticino (Switzerland);
By 2014, SYNLAB had an annual growth rate of 8.7% and a turnover of 756 million euros;
In May and October 2015, European investment giant Cinven took the LABCO and SYNLAB two chain laboratory groups respectively, and a European chain laboratory giant was born. The new company is headquartered in Munich, Germany, by Dr. Bartl Wimmer. As CEO, Philippe Charrier, the former CEO of LABCO, is the executive chairman of the combined company (now resigned).
