The planting area is nearly a thousand mu each year. This year, more than 300 mu of white radishes that have not been harvested are frozen.

He said that the cooling and snowfall was very sudden and the cooling rate was relatively large. At the same time, it was earlier than in previous years, which made many growers who planted white radish unprepared. For white radishes growing in the field, the vegetable growers can harvest them, pile them in piles, cover them with plastic sheeting and haystacks, and recover from less severe cold. If the harvest is not finished for a time, it is recommended that the vegetable growers can cover the straw in the field for temporary insulation to reduce the degree of frostbite in white radish.
White radish is more susceptible to freezing injury because some of its fleshy roots are exposed in the air. For farmers who plan to replant white radish next year, experts suggest that the key is prevention.
