Narcissus cultivation method

Narcissus cultivation includes three methods: dry land cultivation, paddy field cultivation, and soilless cultivation.

Dryland cultivation: After digging the ball each year, the big balls that can be put on the market are singled out and the remaining small side balls can be planted immediately. It can also be left to plant from September to October. It is generally believed that the species grows early, grows well, and grows well. When planting, select larger balls by on-demand method, single row or wide row planting. For single row planting, plant rows of 6×15 cm with a row spacing of 6×25 cm, and continue planting 3 to 4 rows, leaving a row spacing of 35 to 40 cm, and continue successively. In the dryland cultivation, the conservation is more extensive, and in addition to applying 2 to 3 times of water and fertilizer, it is not often watered. Single-row plants are often intercropped with crops.

Paddy field cultivation: The selection of bulbs is very strict, and no bulbs, no damages, bright and smooth outer scales, and clear veins are required to be planted. The ball is cultivated according to the size and age of the ball.

One-year-old cultivation: From the side balls (also called drill heads) cultivated after two years of cultivation, or from small bulbs that cannot be cultivated for two years, a ball with a solid, broad and thick diameter of about 3 cm is selected. Use sowing, drilling or on-demand cultivation. About 23,000 plants per acre are planted.

2-year-old cultivation: After 1 year of cultivation, the ball is in a conical shape, from which a solid, top-rented, diameter of about 4 cm or more is used as a seed ball, and the cultivation and maintenance is more delicate than in 1 year. About 8000 to 10,000 plants per acre.

3-year-old cultivation: 3-year-old cultivation is also known as commodity bulb cultivation. It is the last year before it is put on the market for sale, and it is important to cultivate it very carefully. It is from the ball that has been cultivated for two years, selecting a ball that is wide, short, with a single main bud, a wide stem and disk, a thick top, a ball with a diameter of 5 cm or more, and the outer ball is peeled off before the seedling is cut. Remove the inner shoots leaving only one central bud per ball. About 5000 planted per acre.

Soilless cultivation: This new cultivation method is an improvement of the ground cultivation method. A cultivation tank with a width of 150 cm and a depth of 30-40 cm is required to be cultivated, and sand, decomposed wood chips or perlite are placed in the tank. Nutrition during growth should be comprehensive, pH 6-7. Fertilize once or twice a week during initial planting, fertilize 2-3 times a week during vigorous growth, and stop fertilization after May.
