First, the preparatory work before nectar.
Before the arrival of the honey nectar season, all major preparations must be done, because several major honey plants, such as milk vetch, artichoke, persimmon, jujube, rape, etc., will enter the honey season from April to June. So do the following preparations in advance:
1. Cultivate age-appropriate bee colonies: Determine the peak season of the age-appropriate bee colony so that it coincides with the honey-flowing season, so as to obtain high yields. The honeybees in honeybees are mainly worker bees. The worker bees generally have to go through 21 days from the hatching of eggs to the arrival of adult bees. Only worker bees over 15 days old can participate in the collection outside the nest. Therefore, from the first half of the month before the honey flow period to the month before the end of the flow of honey, it is necessary to step up the cultivation of the age-appropriate bee colony.
2. To build a nest spleen: Before the main nectar collection period, it is necessary to use an auxiliary honey source to build 10-15 nest spleens for each group of bees for their reproduction and honey storage.
3. Organize production groups: In the first half of the month before the arrival of the honey season, a comprehensive inspection of the production groups should be conducted. At this time, the production group should have 15 boxes of bees and 10-15 boxes of spleen. If there is such a group potential, it can develop to more than 20 frames when it flows into honey, and it can become a powerful production group. If this requirement is not met, it can be adjusted by "weakening and strengthening".
Second, adjust the hive.
In the 4-5 days before the nectar collection period, the hive in groups above 15 boxes should be adjusted to facilitate the production of honey, pulp and bee colony. For shorter flowering periods (eg, about 15 days for acacia flowers), to limit spawning by the queen bee, all the queen bees can be left uncovered in the nest box, with 1-2 nesting boxes and 1-2 honey on both sides. spleen. For the long flowering period (such as Vitex, rape) or the second largest source of honey, to pick honey and breeding correct.
Third, strong group.
Strong groups are the basis for high yields. To keep and maintain strong groups, we must control the separation of bees. Secondly, in terms of management, it is necessary to improve the spawning power of queen bees, expand the hive in a timely manner, and complement each other during the breeding period so as to maintain the medium group potential.
Fourth, reasonable honey.
Picking honey must master the principles of early early and mid-term diligence and late stabilization. The so-called "early morning", that is, early spleen, easy access to the same source of honey, at the same time can stimulate the bee colony enthusiasm. The purpose of "medium-term diligence" is to ensure quality and quantity, to facilitate the work of bee colonies and to reduce the separation of bees. Generally mid-2-3 days can take honey once. The purpose of "later stabilization" is to ensure that enough feed is kept for the bee colony to avoid sudden changes in the weather or the second honey source can not keep up, resulting in lack of feed for the spleen.
It is best to collect honey before the bees make a large amount of honey in the morning. Shake the bees and shake the bees faster. If there is not enough manpower, the spleen can be replaced with empty spleen so as not to affect the honey. In the middle and late period of flowing honey, it is necessary to properly maintain a part of the honey spleen and allow the bees to seal and cover them as winter feed. In the process of shaking the bee and spleen, we must pay attention to the safety of the queen bee. For those bee colonies with fierce temperament, we can adopt the method of spraying smoke to make it more stable and then raise the spleen and shake the bees.
Fifth, we must grasp the production of royal jelly and propolis.
In addition to collecting honey, the royal jelly is also a large income. Although the amount of propolis is not large, it cannot be ignored.
Royal Jelly is rich in protein, sugar, and fat. It has important medicinal value and nourishing effects and is used exclusively for feeding queen bees. The artificial bees can be used to stimulate the worker bees to secrete a large amount of royal jelly to feed the larvae of the artificial king Taiwan.
