The emergence of corn brown spot should be strengthened

Recently, farmers have successively consulted about the occurrence of small yellow-brown spots on corn leaves. After field investigation by agricultural technicians, it was diagnosed as corn brown spot. The main cause of the disease was due to the recent continuous rainfall and excessive humidity in the field. This disease has a great impact on the yield of corn. If no effective measures are taken at the early stage of disease, corn kernels will not be full, and serious damage will result. In this regard, we remind our farmers and friends to prevent and control in time to ensure the production and quality of corn.

First, symptom recognition

The disease occurs in the leaves, leaf sheaths and stems of corn. It first occurs at the tip of the top leaf. The lesions at the junction of leaves and leaf sheaths are the most frequent and often densely integrated. The lesions are initially round yellowish brown or reddish-brown spots. Oval to linear or fusiform, leaf tissue near the uplift is often red, small lesions often come together, when severe, several or even full of lesions on the leaves, lesions on the leaves were white and transparent; A large brown spot appeared on the leaf sheath and veins, and the epidermis of the lesions burst at the late stage of the disease, and brown powder (sporangium of pathogenic bacteria) was scattered. The diseased leaves were partially spalled and the veins and vascular bundles remained as filiform.

Second, the incidence of the law

The corn brown spot pathogens spore (sac) in the soil or diseased body overwintering, the next year by air or rain spread to the corn plants, meet the appropriate conditions to germinate a large number of zoospores. Spores swim in the water droplets on the surface of the leaves, forming infested filaments and invading young maize tissues. When high sensitive varieties are continuously planted, the amount of bacteria in soil increases by 5-10 times per year. In terms of fertilization, the use of straw with diseased residues to return fields, the application of unfamed manure compost or a farmyard manure that causes bacteria to be introduced into the field, resulting in a corresponding increase in the number of bacteria. High summer temperatures and high humidity are good for diseases. Infertile soil plots are heavier, and higher fertility plots are less frequent.

Third, control methods

1. Agricultural measures. 1 Carefully remove the water in the field, reduce the humidity in the field, and timely cultivating and weeding. After discovering the disease, immediately apply fertilizer and pay attention to the combination of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium to promote the healthy growth of the plant and increase the resistance to disease. 2 After the corn was harvested, the diseased body tissues were completely removed, and the soil was deeply turned.

2. Chemical control. 1 The prevention of corn brown spot can use 25% triadimefon 1500 times liquid foliar spray. 2 When the onset of disease, 25% triadimefon (triazole) wettable powder 1500 times, or 70% thiophanate-methyl wettable powder 800-1000 times spray can be used. In order to improve the control effect, some foliar treasures, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, urea, etc. may be added in the liquid medicine to increase the disease resistance of corn. According to the characteristics of the current rainy weather, spraying once every 7 days, even spraying 2-3 times, the control effect is good.
