Problems to be paid attention to in raising hogs

Cage-breeding pigs can reduce the amount of pig activity, reduce heat energy consumption, and increase the daily gain by about 200 grams compared to captive breeding. This is a new technology for efficient pig raising. However, due to the small space for activities when pigs are brought into cages, it is inevitable that there will be some physical and pathological problems.

First, prevent fear. To select two-month-old or three-way hybrid weaned pigs, fasting two times before entering the cage, only for adequate drinking water. Arrange the cages at night to properly secure the pig's head and front and rear legs to prevent the piglets from colliding back and forth. After feeding on the cage, feed it in appropriate amounts, stroke the pig body and brush repeatedly to eliminate the fear of the piglet as soon as possible.

Second, prevent "delusion cage" disease. Strengthen the management of temperature and humidity, suitable temperature for pigs is 15°C-25°C and relative humidity is 55%-60%. When the temperature exceeds 33°C in the summer, noon water is used to cool the cage and shade it. In the winter cage, 10 cm to 15 cm of hay is laid, and the mixture is mixed with warm water.

Third, the prevention of deafness. Cage culture pigs are most likely to lack calcium and phosphorus. Therefore, 3% calcium powder or 5% gypsum powder should be added to the feed, and 0.1% vitamin D should be added at the same time.

Fourth, prevent parasites. Disinfect on time, do a good job inside the cage, clean up the fecal matter every day, and thoroughly disinfect the cage with a disinfectant. Do a good job of immunization and follow the immunization program for triple injection. Timely deworming, gastric lavage and stomach.

Fifth, lack of nutrition. To feed high-quality full-price compound feed, formulas are designed according to different growth stages of finishing pigs. For pigs weighing 15kg-30kg, each kilogram of formulated feed contains 13.18 MJ of digestive energy, 17.2% of crude protein, 0.62% of calcium, and 0.58% of phosphorus; the weight of pigs ranges from 30 kg to 60 kg, and the digestion energy per kilogram of feed must be controlled. At the stage of 12.55 MJ, crude protein 16%, calcium 0.59%, phosphorus 0.49%, and pig weight 60 kg-90 kg, per kilogram of formulated feed contains 12.34 MJ of digestive energy, 14.25% of crude protein, 0.52% of calcium, and 0.46% of phosphorus. .
