A new study believes that milk can not only strengthen its bones, but it is also very likely to prevent colon cancer. Finnish researchers conducted a 24-year follow-up survey of 10,000 women over the age of 15 and found that those who drink the most milk have the lowest chance of developing colon cancer.
Studies have found that there is a type of lactose in dairy products that can promote the growth of beneficial cells that inhibit cancer, and vitamins D, calcium, and other nutrients that are rich in content seem to be irrelevant. Although the relationship between milk and dairy products and rectal cancer was not found, the fact that people who ate the most butter among the respondents had a slight increase in the risk of rectal cancer.
Researchers at the University of Kuopio in Finland surveyed the participants’ diet, history of illness, and other lifestyle habits such as smoking and vitamin supplements. Twenty-four years later, 38 people had colon cancer and 34 had rectal cancer. The results showed that people who drank milk (mostly whole milk) were 50% less likely to develop colon cancer than others, and those who consumed the most milk products were 63% less likely to develop colon cancer than others.
