This disease is a type of enteric infectious disease in pups caused by rotavirus and is characterized by diarrhea in rabbits. Mainly through the digestive tract infection, occurred in 2 to 6 weeks old puppies, the incidence and mortality are high, adult rabbits infected with occult infections, do not show clinical symptoms. The disease often suddenly broke out and spread rapidly.
1. Clinical symptoms. The incubation period of this disease is 2 to 4 days. Sudden eruption, sick rabbits lethargic, reduce food or hunger strike, discharge thin or watery stools. The coat of the perineum or hindlimb of the diseased rabbit had faeces with feces. The body temperature was normal, and most of the rabbits died of dehydration failure after 4 days of diarrhoea, and the mortality rate was up to 40%. Most of the young rabbits and adult rabbits do not show symptoms, and only a few show transient symptoms of loss of appetite and soft stools.
2. Pathological changes. Anatomical examination revealed that the villi of the jejunum and ileum showed multifocal fusion and moderate shortening or dullness, flattened intestinal cells, and deeper intestinal glands. Intestinal mucosal lamina propria and lower layer of edema.
3. Control measures. Strengthen health and epidemic prevention and disinfection measures. When this disease occurs, it is immediately isolated after discovery and fully disinfected. Dead rabbits, excrement, and pollutants are buried or burned.
