Abandon old grievances, IBM Apple and mobile health care

Apple's founder, Steve Jobs, once hated IBM and humiliated IBM many times in his legendary life. However, after Tim Cook took over Apple, Apple began to work with IBM. Last year, it reached an exclusive cooperation agreement with IBM to jointly develop iOS-based enterprise applications. However, this cooperation is only the beginning.

Recently, IBM has reached a cooperation agreement with Apple and the world's largest medical device manufacturers, plans to hand over health data from Apple Watch to doctors and insurance companies, and create personalized treatment programs for hip replacement and diabetes patients.

Abandon old grievances for the future: IBM Apple joins hands with mobile healthcare

IBM's move into mobile healthcare will enable users to monitor heart rate, calorie consumption and cholesterol levels. Users use the Apple HealthKit-based app to upload this information to the cloud storage space and authorize doctors and insurance companies to access this information. Users who choose to join the Apple ResearchKit project can also share this data with medical research institutions.

The agreement is the latest case of deeper cooperation between the medical community and the technology industry. Both parties predict that medical data collected by people using smartphones or "wearable devices" such as Fitbit or Apple Watch will see a sharp increase.

John Kelly, senior vice president of IBM, said that Apple's HealthKit and ResearchKit platforms are "really unique." However, he said that there is currently no "systematic approach" to integrate data and send it to designated physicians or clinical research institutions while taking into account security. He said: "We will provide a huge cloud space and a secure database as support."

IBM's cooperation with Apple is not an exclusive agreement, but IBM said that few other companies have the ability to provide the same platform, storage and security as Apple. Kelly said: "(Apple) believes that these data are very sensitive. They are really confident in our reputation for running a secure data center."

IBM said the group will also provide an analysis tool for doctors, research institutions and insurance companies to collate and statistically analyze data from Apple devices with patients' electronic medical records in order to discover patterns, support clinical trials or Help reduce the rising cost of care. The tool will be built using IBM's "cognitive computing system" Watson.

Reader Urinalysis Reagent Strip

Urine test strips include test parameters for Nitrite, PH, Glucose, Protein, Occult Blood, Ketone, Bilirubin, Urobilinogen, Specific Gravity, Leukocyte, Ascorbic Acid, Ca, Creatinine and Microalbumin.

Urinalysis Test Strips Parameters is a basic diagnostic instrument used to determine pathological changes in the urine of standard urinalysis. urine test strip comprise of up to 12 different chemical pads or reagents which react (change color) when immersed in, and then removed from, a urine sample.

The test can be read between 60 and 120 seconds after dipping. Routine testing of the urine with multiparameter strips is the first step in the diagnosis of a wide range of diseases.

A wide range of applications, such as fitness, sports, drinking water, food, cooking oil

[Test Result Explanation]

Urobilinogen:This test area will detect urobilinogen in concentrations as low as 3μmol/L (approximately 0.2 Ehrlich) in urine. The normal range with this test is 3-16μmol/L.A result of 33μmol/L represents the transition from normal to abnormal, and the patient and/or urine specimen should be evaluated further. The negative results of this test cannot determine that there is no urobilinogen in samples.

Bilirubin:Normally no bilirubin is detectable in urine by even the most sensitive methods.Even trace amounts of bilirubin are sufficiently abnormal to require further investigation.Metabolites of drugs which give a color at low pH,such as pyridium and lodine etc, will interfere with the test of bilirubin, high concentration of ascorbic acid may cause false negative.

Ketone:The test strip reacts with acetoacetic acid in urine. It does not react with acetone or B-hydroxbutyric acid.Normal urine specimens usually yield negative results with this reagent, false positive results may occur with urine specimens which containing pigment or large amounts of levodopa metabolites.
